Matt Murphy

Matt Murphy is a National Industrial Officer with the Communications Electrical and Plumbing Union (CEPU) with responsibility for the manufacturing and engineering industries.
Matt is a qualified electrical fitter/mechanic who completed his apprenticeship and post-trade training whilst working in the NSW electricity transmission system. He also holds qualifications, including workplace training and assessment, acquired during service with the Australian Army.
He represents the Electrical Division of the CEPU and Unions NSW in a number of areas including VET related matters, Standards Australia, the Australian Council of Trade Unions (ACTU) and the Australian Defense Force (ADF) Reserves.
Matt has a particular interest in training and classification development, and recognition of prior learning (RPL) issues.
His interests include history, politics, rugby union and motorcycle racing.
