Michael Brown has been involved with Industry Skills Councils (ISCs) (formerly Industry Training Advisory Bodies (ITABs)) since the early 1990s. He was a member of the National Aeroskills Project Inc. and then spent nine years as a Director on the Board of the Manufacturing, Engineering and Related Services Industry Training Advisory Body
(MERS ITAB). During that time he was the Chair of Aeroskills Council. He currently chairs the Board of Kangan Institute and is on the Advisory Board of the Victoria University Business School.
Michael has over 37 years of experience in the transport industry in both Australia and New Zealand, covering operations roles with significant exposure to Lean and Six Sigma implementation and sustainability. He is currently involved in the asset management of rail inventory across Australia for the largest rail freight operator and the maintenance function nationally.
